Macedonian Human Resource Association (MHRA) is a professional association that was founded in 2009 by 55 individuals – professionals in the field of HR management. MHRA has an active base of more than 120 individual members, with a gender ratio of 80% women and 20% male (and over 600 passive members/individuals from the HR filed). The diverse membership encompasses more than 60 companies from the public and private sector. As well, MHRA has twenty companies as corporate members. 

The MHRA model of association functions as an open platform that integrates individuals at all stages of career development (general managers, HR managers, consultants, training providers, job mediation professionals, employees, professors, representatives of the public sector including students and unemployed), and as well, as business partner to the companies with their corporate membership. As association, we are directly and indirectly, through our members, involved in the creation of the policies related to the business, socio-economic issues, school, vocational education and adult education, and other important processes on national and local level.

MHRA is internationally established and recognized as an official member of the European Association for People Management – EAPM since 2012 which also means it is a member of the bigger professional network the World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA).

MHRA was founded as professional association, in order to undertake activities and measures connected with the development of the work force, promotion of the HR management and enhancement of the HR management as a profession. The vision of MHRA is development of the people and organizations, while our mission is advancement and development of the profession HR management.

Goals of MHRA: 

• Unique association representing the HR professionals in Macedonia; 
• Increasing the awareness for the HR profession and standardization; 
• Assistance in creation of the labor legislation supportive for the human capital development; 
• To become the focal point of professionals in the HR society; 
• Professional exchange and integration in the activities of the European Association for People Management (EAPM) and World Federation of People Management Associations (WFPMA);
• Implementation of an international professional certificate for HR profession in both formal and informal education in Macedonia; 
• Promotion of the lifelong learning concept.

Main activities:

• Annual International MHRA Conference: So far, the association has successfully organized 14 international HR conferences, out of which twelve were live events, while two were in online format;
• Annual award process of selection and ceremony for announcement of the HR manager, Young HR enthusiast and HR practice of the year;
  
  • HR Cafe & Networking events; 
  • HR weekends, with experts from the HR field;
  • HR trainings and workshops, from various HR areas;
  • Meetings, workshops, lectures, development and participation in projects, lobbying, conducting surveys, publishing newsletters, reports, books, videos, electronic media and other materials; 
  • Other.

  MHRA currently has executive office, run by the operative manager and the administrative assistant. The association’s representative is the President, who has term of 3 years. The association also has two more bodies- the management board and the general assembly. Aside from the roles of the operative manager and the administrative assistant, the other roles/bodies are conducted on voluntary level- no material compensation for the President and the members of the management board and the general assembly. As well, the association engaged local volunteers for assistance in the implementation of the local, national and international activities of MHRA: HR Conference, HR cafes, HR awards, trainings and workshops, and other activities contained in the annual program of the association.

  Macedonian Human Resources Association (MHRA) this year will organize its Jubilee 15th International HR Conference & HR Expo 2023. The conference will take place on 28th and 29th of September 2023, in Holiday Inn Hotel & M6 Education Center in Skopje.
